Journeys

Filming a journey is durational heaven! There are many ways to do it and this section shows some experimental films of journeys I have made.
The Road Less Travelled describes the same circular journey, from Dalbeattie to Dumfries and back again in two very different weather conditions - heavy snow and early spring sunshine, yet only three weeks apart.

Coming Home is a car journey made between Hawick and Longtown in the Scottish Borders. Filmed from both the front and back windscreens simultaneously, then edited into a split screen image, the viewer is able to watch both future and past vistas.
The title came from spending a few days in Hawick and feeling so at home there. Beginning the journey home was both a happy and bittersweet moment.
This film shows only the first 47 minutes of the two hour drive.
